Fans of the French club may have been hoping for the Ivory Coast international but were instead handed news of the signing of his namesake from the country’s fourth tier
EXTRA TIME
Yaya Toure has found a new club. No, not the Ivorian, but his teenage namesake who has joined Caen’s development squad.
Unlike the 32-year-old, four-time African Footballer of the Year and Manchester City star, the youngster has arrived from AC Amiens in the French fourth division.
Noticeably shorter, and slighter, than the former Barcelona powerhouse, Toure may not be the big-money signing that fans may have hoped for when they read the headlines, but he will generate a fair wedge for the Ligue 1 club through shirt sales.

An offial statement said: “We have a new signing at our training centre. We wish him the same successful future as his namesake.”
A rendition of City’s Toure anthem may also eventually ring around Stade Michel d’Ornano should the youngster break into the first team.
