The two midfielders both hit 200 appearances in the English top flight at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night having made their debut in the same game in 2010

Yaya Toure and David Silva are both making their 200th Premier League appearance for Manchester City against Watford.

The midfield duo made their debuts in the English top flight in the same game against Tottenham back in 2010 having signed for City in the summer of that year.

Since then, they have gone on to make more than 500 appearances combined in all competitions, helping the club to two Premier League titles.

Few players have played more of an instrumental role in those successes, with both Toure and Silva named to the Premier League Team of the Year in 2011-12 and Toure making the cut again in 2013-14.

The Ivorian appeared to have played his last game for City after being frozen out by Pep Guardiola earlier this season, but returned to the fold in November with a two-goal performance against Crystal Palace.

Silva, meanwhile, has continued to play a key part under the new coach, appearing in 14 of City’s 16 games so far in 2016-17.

City go into the clash against Watford at the Etihad Stadium having lost two Premier League matches in a row, against Chelsea and Leicester City, while conceding seven goals.

After a strong start to the campaign, they now trail league leaders Chelsea by seven points and sit in fourth place.
