After failing to recognise the midfielder’s birthday last season prompted the player to reconsider his future at Manchester City, the manager has moved to avoid a repeat
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to avoid a repeat of last season’s birthday controversy and buy a present and cake for Yaya Toure.
In his press conference ahead of this weekend’s home game against QPR, a journalist reminded Pellegrini about Toure’s upcoming birthday asking him if the Ivorian is going to have a cake this time.
Pellegrini jokingly replied saying that they “will think what’s the best thing for Yaya” causing laughter among the media after the club failed to mark the occasion last year, prompting ire from the midfielder.
