‘Well done boys’ – Yaya Toure lauds Manchester City’s showing vs. Huddersfield Town

Manchester City’s Yaya Toure has praised his teammates following their 2-1 win over Huddersfield in Sunday’s English Premier League encounter.

A Nicolas Otamendi own goal in the 45th minute had gifted David Wagner’s side the lead before Sergio Aguero restored parity for the Citizens with a well-taken penalty two minutes after the restart.

Raheem Sterling’s 84th-minute strike ensured Pep Guardiola’s side left the  Kirklees Stadium with maximum points, their 11th successive win in the English top-flight.

And the ex-Cote d’Ivoire international, left out of the matchday squad, took to social media to shower encomium on his side for their hard-fought victory against the Terriers.

“Well done boys,” Toure wrote on Twitter.

Toure has been reduced to a bit-part player at the Etihad Stadium this season, making only five in all competitions for Manchester City so far this term.

Guardiola’s side have however been in sensational form, winning their last 18 consecutive games in all competitions and currently sit eight points clear at the summit of the English Premier League log.

The ex-Barcelona midfielder will be hoping to make his third Premier League appearance when the Citizens host Southampton on Wednesday.
